Aims of the Fellowship

The MMF seeks to achieve two primary objectives:

  • Bolster the Ranks: Significantly increase the number of doctoral and post-doctoral level trained mathematical modelers specializing in malaria, who are based at Nigerian institutions.
  • Enhance NMEP’s Capacity: Amplify the capacity of the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) to utilize modeling approaches. These approaches are instrumental in supporting strategic planning and the evaluation of malaria control and elimination efforts.
